FrameFit Retrofit – Rim Night Latch Set for FD30 Fire Doors

The FrameFit Retrofit Rim Night Latch Set provides a fully tested solution for reinstating rim night latch cored holes in 30-minute fire doors (FD30). Specially engineered to retain the fire integrity of the door after lock removal or upgrade, this system is independently tested to BS 476 Part 22: 1987 for proven performance.

Designed for compatibility with rim night latch cored holes up to 32 mm diameter, the set uses intumescent technology to expand rapidly under fire conditions. This ensures continued compliance during maintenance, retrofit works, and lock replacement projects.

Tested to BS476 Pt 22 1987

For use with a rim night latch cored hole up to 32 mm diameter.

Fitting:

Unscrew the lock & back plate

 

Take the Key Barrel out, Leaving the cored hole exposed

 

Unscrew and remove the latch plate

 

Unpack the FrameFit packaging

 

There are three sections within the pack.

1) Back Plate Gasket
2) Key Barrel Wrap
3) Latch Plate Gasket

 

Starting with the Latch plate,

Pop out the pre drilled holes, peel away the double sided sticky tape on the back, line up the original screw holes in the frame and fit the intumescent gasket.

 

Re-fix the Latch plate.

 

Key Barrel Wrap

Peel the backing tape and feed the gasket into the bored hole in the door, making sure the gasket is flush.

 

Lock & Lock Plate

Take the lock plate gasket and pop out the pre cut hole and disregard, using the lock plate, peel the double sided tape and place the gasket over the existing hole on the back plate.

 

Tap the fixing screws through the backing plate and gasket, line up the original screw holes and fix.

 

Realign the key barrel, using the barrel fixing screw, pierce through the gasket where the barrel will be attached. Push the key barrel back into place and line up the threads and fix.

 

Now you can fit the latch back on and screw into place.

 

To finish, make sure the door opens and latches as normal.
